About

  • We are a Spirit-empowered, Bible-centered church serving the Huron, S.D. area with the good news that Jesus saves and forgives sinners eternally! We believe that the church exists to glorify God, proclaim the gospel to all who will hear, and encourage and build up the saints to do the work of the ministry. Our goal is to be God-honoring in everything that we do together. In and through Christ and His work, we are a church family partnering in the proclamation of Christ. Our identity is expressed through our shared confession that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. Our Sunday morning gathering of the whole body is centered around the Word of God as we sing, pray, give, serve, partake in the Lord’s Supper, baptize new disciples of Jesus Christ, and hear from God through the reading and the expository preaching of the Scriptures. We believe that Christ grows us together by His Spirit as a congregation of believers through the careful study and application of God’s Word, the Bible.

  • We teach that the Bible is God's written revelation to man.  It is verbally inspired in every word, and absolutely inerrant in the original documents.  We affirm the infalibility, sufficiency, and authority of Scripture.

We teach that there is but one living and true God, an infinite, all-knowing Spirit, perfect in all His attributes, one in essence, eternally existing in three Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit - each equally deserving worship and obedience.

We teach the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His miracles, His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

We teach that salvation of man, who is sinful and lost, is instantaneous and accomplished solely by the power of the Holy Spirit through the instrumentality of the Word of God when the repentant sinner responds in faith.  This salvation is wholly of God by grace on the basis of the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, the merit of His shed blood, and not on the basis of human merit or works.  All the redeemed are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever.

We teach that the Holy Spirit baptizes all believers into the Body of Christ at the moment of salvation. The Holy Spirit also indwells, sanctifies, instructs, empowers them for service, and seals them unto the day of redemption.

We teach the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved, the saved unto the resurrection of life and the unsaved unto the resurrection of damnation.

We teach that all who put their faith in Jesus Christ are immediately placed by the Holy Spirit into one united spiritual body, the church, of which Christ is the Head.  The purpose of the church is to glorify God by building its members up in the faith, by instruction of the Word, by fellowship, by keeping the ordinances, and by advancing and communicating the gospel to the entire world.  The formation of the church, the Body of Christ, began on the Day of Pentecost and will be completed at the coming of Christ for His own at the rapture.

  • Sunday Morning Service

This is our primary means for the equipping of MOC, as it is described and commanded in the New Testament. Here the Word is sung, preached, and pictured in the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Members of MOC should prioritize this gathering above other activities, because it is one of the primary means of grace the Scriptures describe.

    Sunday School Hour

Since the Sunday sermon is normally a consecutive expositional message through a book of the Bible, some key topics for the Christian life will not be able to be discussed directly. Thus, such topics are handled in the Sunday School hour before the main gathering.

We strongly encouraged you to attend this time as this is another primary way we can equip the saints for the work of service.
